Brandon Lee… A Great Actor Taken To Young!

Actor Brandon Lee… A film legends taken well before his time!

For most modern movie fans… Those younger fans that have more often then not have been getting in to movies that were created after 2000, then the chance is, is that you probably have not heard of him… Of course for those movie fans out there that are a fan of older films no matter what age know him, and the awesomeness that made up his brief, but awesome body of work!

This blog is for those of you who probably don’t know him!

Brandon Lee was born in 1965, in to one of those potential acting dynasties… (If it had not have been for the fact that both father and son died when their careers were just starting to take off…)

Brandon Lee with his father, Jung-Fu Movie legend, ‘Bruce Lee’…

What I am talking about is that Brandon Lee was born to Linda Lee Caldwell, and legendary martial artist/actor Bruce Lee (Enter The Dragon)… So obviously he was well suited to eventually taking over the mantle after his father passed away…

Now early on this amazing talent got his first real credited start playing along side actor David Carradine (Death Race 2000) as the suspected son of the character that David Carradine played in, Kung-Fu: The Movie (1986)… (An interesting side note, is that the role that David Carradine plays in this series had been originally intended for Brandon’s father, ‘Bruce’, before Bruce died…)

After this though, Brandon Lee would go on to play in movies that were just better and better! Including: Laser Mission (1989), with Ernest Borgnine (Escape From New York), Rapid Fire (1990) with Powers Boothe (Frailty) & culminating with his final project… The project that would end up taking his life… The Crow (1994)!

Unfortunately it is true… This classic movie would go on to be his last movie, and maybe most prolific movie… You see, due to an accident involving a gun that was supposed to have held a blank in it (by mistake, it did not,) and during the scene, in which he was supposed to have been shot by a blank, he ended up being shot with a real projectile…

Now as a side note… After the death of Brandon Lee, it was believed that due to ties that his father Bruce had in China, that there had been a curse put on the family, and the reason for this is that both Brandon and Bruce had died due to mysterious circumstances at the height of their careers, while both were in the process of filming maybe their most prolific movies…

Well folks as for Brandon Lee, it looks like he made a cameo appearance in the movie, Sex, Lies and Video Violence (2000), a movie that was made in the early 1990s, but released in 2000, so if you are a fan, check it out, these rare b-movie gems can be an awful lot of fun!

And as for Brandon himself, he will be missed… And if you haven’t seen his work yet… Then I do recommend doing so… He was a great talent, and will be missed!
