The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

by  |  August 24th, 2012  |  Action/Adventure

Since I was a kid one of my favorite DC Comic book characters has been, ‘Batman’, I mean this guy is dark and cool, and doesn’t really make the long winded and pointless messages that some of the other super heroes made back in the day!

I have been such a fan of Batman that I have seen most of the cartoons, most of the 1960s TV series, and just about all of the movies (In the theaters), including, The Dark Knight Rises (2012):

Written by: Christopher Nolan (Memento), Jonathan Nolan (The Prestige) & Directed by: Christopher Nolan. Starring: Christian Bale (American Psycho), Gary Oldman (Bram Stoker’s Dracula), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (3rd Rock From The Sun), Anne Hathaway (Get Smart), Tom Hardy (Star Trek: Nemesis), Marion Cotillard (Inception), Morgan Freeman (Lucky Number Slevin), Michael Caine (Children Of Men) & Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket).

When I first heard that Christopher Nolan (Memento) had taken control of the Batman series, and was going to be rebooting the franchise, I have to admit that I was a little nervous, considering how bad Batman & Robin (1997) was! But I have to admit that I was very pleasantly surprised with just how good Batman Begins (2005), and the series just kept on getting better and better, culminating with, The Dark Knight Rises!

The Dark Knight Rises tells the story of a very different Gotham City, you see in this world, which takes place about 8 years after the events of, The Dark Knight (2008). Gotham City is almost crime free, having created aggressive laws after the death of district attorney, Harvey Dent (Played by: Aaron Eckhart in, The Dark Knight.)

Since then Batman has disappeared, after having been blamed for the death of Dent. Now with the Batman gone, and with the woman that he loved dead, Bruce Wayne (Bale), has become a recluse, living the rest of his life in his estate!

But with the threat of Bane (Hardy) coming to Gotham City, Batman is going to have to come out of retirement, for at least one more epic battle, if Gotham City is going to be saved!

One of the things that I don’t like when it comes to franchises, is when a franchise has jumped the shark, but has started making worse and worse sequels, just so they can capitalize on the name. just so that they can make money!

The reason that I mention this is that I read that this was going to be the last Super Hero movie that Christopher Nolan will direct, and I know that this is supposed to be the last Batman movie of this series that will ever be released… If that’s the case, then I have to say this movie series is going out as strong as it came in, and if the studios decide to make another one… Then damn I can’t wait for that one to come out!

Anyway if you are looking for a fun kick ass movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat, then this one might be the one for you!
