That’s what it sounds like folks… According to Filmjunk:
Actor Daniel Craig (Casino Royale), who’s name could almost be said to be synonymous with the role of James Bond, since he took over after Pierce Brosnan (Salvation Boulevard) retired his participation as the titular Bond character… Now it looks like Mr Craig maybe poised to become one of the longest running Bond’s ever with having been offered the role in five more Bond films after the release of the upcoming 22nd sequel in the highly successful franchise called, ‘Skyfall.’
Craig is currently in negotiations for this long running contract, and if he does take it, that means he will beat out Roger Moore (Moonraker) for the actor to play Bond the longest, as he starred as Bond in seven Bond movies from 1973 – 1985. He will also beat out Sean Connery (Dr. No) who was in 6 legitimate Bond movies as James Bond and in one that was not officially sanctioned by IGN!
Here is what producer Michael G. Wilson had to say about the deal:
“Daniel’s been a terrific Bond, a superb actor and a terrific man. The fans love him and I don’t think there’s a better actor to play the part… Filming has gone very well so far and I’d love Daniel to surpass Roger’s record and do eight pictures. Daniel’s been an absolute pleasure to be around because he takes the role so seriously. There’s really no one more passionate about making these films work than him – he’s a film maker’s dream. A lot of people have said Daniel’s been their favourite Bond since Sean Connery and I can’t argue with them. He’s doing a great job.”
