Ridley Scott Set To Direct Blade Runner Remake?

Harrison Ford in 'Blade Runner'

According To Deadline:

We all know Blade Runner.  This cult classic that was written by: Hampton Fancher (The Minus Man), David Webb Peoples (Soldier) and which was directed by: Ridley Scott (Aliens) has decided to commit to directing an updated adaption of the classic Scifi Film…

Now the original cult classic which starred Harrison Ford (The Indiana Jones series), Rutger Hauer (Nighthawks) and Sean Young (Dune) told the story of a dystopic future in which mankind has developed the technology to create what is called, ‘Replicants’ human clones that are used to serve in the outer colonies out side of Earth. But these Replicants have very fixed life spans.  Now the lead ‘Deckard’ (Ford) is a retired Blade Runner (A cop who specializes in destroying Replicants.) Deckard is then taken out of retirement because six of the Replicants have escaped from one of the offworld colonies.

With that said it is currently unclear rather or not this movie (which is originally loosely based on a Philip K. Dick Novel) is going to be a remake or a sequel to the Oscar nominated movie. But with out much more information on the film, I thought that you guys might enjoy the trailer for the cult classic…
