Award winning filmmaker, Ridley Scott heads back to the Alien francise, for the upcoming movie, 'Prometheus'

According To Comingsoon:

The Alien movie series has been a truly prolific movie series, having entertained audiences all over the world since the late 1970s.

Starting off the series is the Ridley Scott (Hannibal) directed, Alien (1979).  Since then though, the movie series has seen 3 direct sequels to its original series and two Aliens Vs. Predator cross over movies…

With that said, and with out a sequel to the original movie series since the mid 1990s and with out a sequel in the cross over series for the last couple of years, it appears that the Alien movies have gotten new life breathed in to them, thanks to the man who helped to bring them in to the world in the first place… Ridley Scott!

Ridley Scott and Sigourney Weever during the making of the original, 'Alien'.

That’s right folks, the award winning filmmaker has been working for awhile on bringing the series back to it’s origins…

With that said though, the plot for Prometheus has been a closely guarded secret until now that is. Here is what 20th century fox (the people who produce the series) has to say about the plot to Prometheus:

Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery.
