Asteroids And Space Invaders Getting New Life.

According to ShockTillYouDrop:

If you are over 25 then you will most likely remember the fun times of playing video games like, Pacman, Space Invaders, Centipede, or even Asteroids!

With that said, most of those old mid to late 70s and early 80s video games have sadly been left to their fate, and the test of time, with a lack of sequels or in any form of branching in to other markets.  Although, it is true that if you are in a restaurant, or laundry mat, etc… that is old enough then you might still be able to find these games, the chances never the less is slim, (with the exception of maybe the original Pacman.)

With that said though, for all you old Arcade fans out there, it looks like Asteroids, and Space Invaders are getting new life breathed in to them… With big screen adaptions!

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura (The Transformers Movies) is currently in the process of getting both films ready for production, and has teamed up with Odd Lot Entertainment’s Gigi Pritzker (Drive) to get that project off the ground. Mr. di Bonaventura also has up and coming screen writer Matthew Lopez working on a script for the movie adaption of ‘Asteroids’.

Now with all that in mind, since there is no real established long term story or mythos for either film, the universes for both ‘Asteroids’ and ‘Space Invaders’ are going to have to be created.

Stay tuned for more on this story…
