by  |  June 8th, 2011  |  News

Leonardo DiCaprio: That name at this point just screams big box office hits! Since the late 90s he has done such masterpieces as, Titanic (1997) with Kate Winslet (Revolutionary Road), Blood Diamond (2006) with Jennifer Connelly (Labyrinth) and recently he did Inception (2010) with Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Halloween H20) so what is next for the super star?

Well according to Filmjunk:

Mr. DiCaprio is currently in negotiations to play, Calvin Candie in the movie Django: Unchained. Calvin Candie is a man who uses part of his southern plantation for gladiatorial fights amongst his male slaves.

Django: Unchained, which is being written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, is being set up to be an homage to the original Sergio Corbucci (directed (1966) western which starred Franco Nero (The Mercenary)

This movie is also being setup to pay homage to the Takashi Miike directed Sukikyaki Western Django (2007) for which Mr. Tarantino had a small part in.
