Steve Carell, a power house comedian who got his start in the movie 40 Year Old Virgin (2005) and who has continued on to become a power house actor in such films as Dan In Real Life (2007) with Dane Cook (Good Luck Chuck) and Juliette Binoche (Chocolat) and in the big screen adaption of the TV Show Get Smart (2008) with Anne Hathaway (Havoc) and Alan Arkin (Rendition)
But for the past few years you could see Mr. Carell in the highly successful mockumentary TV series The Office. A show about an unseen team that documents the crazy lives of the Scranton Pennsylvania branch of the Paper Company ‘Dunder Mifflin’. In the show, Carell plays the zany, way out there, yet still great sales man, boss of the office, ‘Michael Scott’.
Unfortunately though due to Carell’s previous announcement about his departure from the show, we won’t be able to see the zany antics of Mr. Scott anymore. The question now is… Whats next for Steve Carell?
Well according to The Hollywood Reporter:
Well as we reported earlier this year, Mr. Carell is attached to star as a jaded Las Vegas Magician who ends up being dethroned by a hip young up and coming illusionst, in the upcoming New Line Cinema produced comedy Burt Wonderstone
Also on the docket for Mr. Carell is a movie that is set to be released on July 29th called, Crazy, Stupid Love. The movie itself is about a man whose life begins to unravel after his wife leaves him… This movie is being produced by Warner Bros.
The last thing we have on the docket for Mr. Carell is the upcoming 2012 film called, Great Hope Springs. Mr. Carell has signed on to this soon to be directed by David Frankel (Marley & Me!) movie, about a middle-aged couple who attend an intense weekend of counseling sessions to determine the fate of their marriage.
With that said folks, even though it is sad to see Steve Carell’s character in The Office leave, the good news is, is that we still have more Carell on the way!
