New Baywatch movie?

The cast of Baywatch

That’s right folks according to Starpulse.com:

The director of Ghost Busters, Ivan Reitman is working on a plan to develop a new movie based on Baywatch, the popular hit TV series in the 1990’s starring David Hasselhoff (Click), Pamela Anderson (Super Hero Movie) and Erika Eleniak (Absolute Zero) with many more, looks like now may be turned in to a movie.

Reitman has revealed that the idea is there to bring back the 90’s surf soap for the next generation, but that he’s just waiting for the right script to come along.

This is what Mr. Reitman had to say about the project to The Hollywood Reporter, “We still don’t have a script that’s makeable (but) I think it’s a big opportunity. This is a comedy, and I think we have a very interesting take – a classical idea that will be fresh for the world audience.”

More to come when we get it…

Trying to do what they did with The Brady Bunch, it seems. I don’t think it would work, because Baywatch was such a good serious show that it seems kind of mean-hearted to poke fun at it. I think they should remake the show with some old and new cast for the next generation instead. Would be a hit, of course, as the old show still is.
