Ok, so you wouldn’t think it… But a lot of the time these days, Western movies are generally, ‘B’ movies…
Now before you started demaning my head for attacking western movies… The truth is, is I am not… A lot of the time people think when you say, ‘B’ movie… People generally tend to make these movies out to be pretty horrible, but the truth is… Is they are actually really pretty good!
A great example of a truly awesome B movie is the movie, Soylent Green (1973)… Now this movie created literally one of the most famous sayings in pop-culture history, “Soylent Green is people.” The truth is, is if you actually saw the movie… A lot of people maybe shocked, and think this movie is pretty bad… The truth is, is this movie is great… And more often then not when I talk to people who have seen this movie, they say this movie is actually pretty good!
So when I say that a lot of the modern western movies are pretty much, ‘B’ movies… Well a lot people maybe shocked and appaled by my saying that… But I think most people may still want to see these movies, and I think even more would want to see these types of movies because they are, ‘B’ movies! I know sometimes I do!
And Django Unchained (2012) is no different!
Written & Directed by: Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction). Starring: Jamie Foxx (Ray), Christoph Waltz (Spectre), Leonardo DiCaprio (Titantic), Kerry Washington (Scandal), Samuel L. Jackson (Avengers) & Walton Goggins (Ant-Man And The Wasp).
“He just ain’t used to seein’ a man ripped apart by dogs is all.” – A quote from the movie: Django Unchained (2012).
During the 19th century, a slave is bought by a german Dentist/Bounty Hunter who decides to train this former slave to be his assistant… In the end though, this former slave will find out more then he expected when he lands in the land of a plantation owner… And the slave wife that this plantation owner owns as well!
Ok, so as far as this movie goes… This movie has a great cast… Great special effects… And frankly I thought it was fun seeing a lot of these people in a western movie… But the truth is, is what did not make this movie great was the story… It was a great idea… It just did not always hold my interest…
But it does have some good moments and is well worth checking out if you have the opportunity to check it out!
