You know, you wouldn’t think it… But there is somerthing to be said for these movies you really liked when you were a kid… I mean sometimes there is just something about them that just sticks with you… I have actually had that with a few movies now… One of them was oddly enough a sort of coming of age film for kids… But told from the concept of the pets! And you know what… It was a surprisingly fun film! And I would honestly say still resonates as a great coming of age film for kids going in to becoming teenagers!
That movie being: Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993)!
Written by: Caroline Thompson (The Addams Family) & Directed by: Duwayne Dunham (Halloweentown). Starring: Michael J. Fox (Back To The Future), Sally Field (Mrs. Doubtfire), Don Ameche (Oscar), Kevin Chevalia (Folks), Veronica Lauren (Forever Young), Benj Thall (The Puppet Masters), Kim Greist (Brazil) & Robert Hays (Cat’s Eye).
There goes the bunny… There goes the pup… There goes breakfast. – A quote from: Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993)!
This movie tells the endearing and heart warming story of how 2 dogs and a cat… Pets think that their owners are in trouble… When their owners are unable to make it to visit them at a farm that they are left at temporarily.
So with great haste, the domesticated pets decide that they are willing to brave the wilds of the wilderness and make their way back home to their family, and make sure tht their owners are safe… And because lets be honest… A pet needs an owner!
Now this movie honestly is more for kids… But it is a fun one, if you are re-watching it after having watched it when you were a kid! And honestly it has a great message for kids about overcoming fear as you grow up! And the talent in this movie did just a great job sending out this message! So if you got kids, or are just looking for a nice walk down memory lane, check this one out! You will be glad you did!
