Some Avengers You May Not Recognize!

The Avengers we have all come to know and love!

The Avengers we have all come to know and love!

That’s right folks, Marvel… (like DC,) have been making movies about some of their most famous heroes for years, including some of the Avengers!

And since we all know and love the work of those awesome actors that have come to play these Avengers, (including: Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man 3), Chris Evans (Captain America: The First Avenger), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (XX/YY), Scarlett Johansson (Lucy), Jeremy Renner (Dahmer), Samuel Jackson (The Avengers) and Colbie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother), admittedly the last 2 were added because even though they aren’t actual, ‘Avengers’ they have been integral to the MCU and the Avengers!)

But I doubt many have really gone in to the world that helped make it possible for the modern Avengers to be able to take shape… What I mean, is checking out the live action previous, ‘Avengers’ that helped make it ok to bring the modern Avengers to the world!

Well… It may be true that not all of them had live action predecessors, I thought that I would show you the ones that do!

And well… The first one that I thought that I would do is: Thor!

Before Chris Hemsworth had the chance to play the role, there was: Eric Allan Kramer!

Before Chris Hemsworth had the chance to play the role, there was: Eric Allan Kramer!

Before Chris Hemsworth got the role, and before anyone else really had the chance to play the Thunder God in a live action scenario, Eric Allan Kramer was the first one to use mjolnir when he fought alongside Lou Ferrigno’s, ‘Hulk’ in, The Incredible Hulk Returns (1988)!

And speaking of, ‘The Incredible Hulk’, before Mark Ruffalo got to the role, and even before Edward Norton (American History X) or Eric Bana (Star Trek), Bill Bixby (My Favorite Martian) & Lou Ferrigno (Hercules) got to play the roles of, ‘Hulk’ and his puny alter-ego, ‘Banner’ in the 70s and 80s with the classic TV series, ‘The Incredible Hulk’!

The first live action, ‘Hulk’ and the most recent one!

For more information, please check out these opening credits for the TV show!

This next one I thought you guys might get a kick out of… You see, DC had Superman, which there have been movies made about him since the 40s… Well Marvel had, ‘Captain America’… And if you are talking about, ‘the true first Avenger’… Then he definitely fits! What with Dick Purcell (King of the Zombies) pioneering the role in the 40s!

The first Captain America (Dick Purcell), with the most recent man to dawn the stars and stripes and the shield!

For more information on the first man to call himself, ‘Captain America’… Check out this trailer!

And finally, last but not least… Nick Fury!

The 2 Nicks, the first one played by: David Hasslehoff, and the most recent, ‘Samuel L. Jackson’, both great in their own rights!

Now I know that in the traditional sense, Nick Fury is not exactly an, ‘Avemger’… But lets be honest here folks… Nick Fury is just as important to the MCU and to the Avengers as the Avemgers themselves! And before Samuel L. Jackson had the role, it was played in a live action movie/tv show with David Hasslehoff (Sharknado 3) playing Nick Fury in, Nick Fury: Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D. (1998)!

For more information on this first Nick Fury outing, check out this trailer!

There have been other forms of media that has been made based on these awesome characters… but you can see why the modern Avengers rock, and where some of them came from in the live action sense!
