Nichelle Nichols, on stage with her former Star Trek crew, including William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Walter Koenig and George Takei
Nichelle Nichols (Star Trek: TOS) a woman whose historic contributions to the world of film on both the small screen and the large screen as Lieutenant Uhura on TV in the 60s, with ‘Star Trek’, as well as later in the 70s when Star Trek was turned in to a film franchise, did help further the causes of eqaulity for both women and black people during a time in world history, in which strife among almost everyone was still a major part of peoples lives!
Well in a time where racial and sexual barriers have begun to drop in major ways, it looks like Nichelle Nichols has attached herself to a new role in the upcoming movie, Omaha Street!
Omaha Street, tells the story of how a young white kid, with whom after he is abused while being in the foster care system is taken in by an African American family, where through love, redemption and forgiveness, is given a second chance!
