April Fool’s Day (1986)

by  |  April 2nd, 2012  |  Horror

This one is a personal favorite of mine.  This obscure little Horror/Thriller is utterly brilliant and I wouldn’t have known about it if it hadn’t been for that Tower Records clearance store! (Man I miss that store.)

That’s right folks I discovered this little gem many moons ago when I was at a Tower Records Shop looking for some VHS Movies to watch (This again happens to be back during the end days of the VHS tapes supremacy over Video entertainment.) This store had many classic barely known films which I loved.  One of these movies that I happened to find was April Fools Day!

Written by Danilo Bach and Directed by Fred Walton and starring Deborah Foreman (Wax Work) Amy Steel (Friday the 13th Part 2), Jay Baker (The Incredible Hulk Returns), Deborah Goodrich (Survival Game), Ken Olandt (Hotel), Griffin O’Neal (The Wraith), Leah Pinsent (Shades Of Love: The Emerald Tear), Clayton Rohner (Sometimes They Come Back… For More)  and Thomas F. Wilson (Back to the Future series).

This movie tells the story of Muffy St. John.  She is pretty, she is rich, and now that she has inherited this huge house on an island out in the middle of nowhere, she has decided to invite her friends out for the weekend to test run the place, when there is not gonna be any ferry service for the entire weekend… That is what you want right?

At first everything seems normal.  I mean they did get on the ferry alright… But once they get to the Island, that is when thing begin to get kind of weird…

Some of the group are surprised when one of the boat hands face gets shredded!

When they get to the island, one of the boat hands jumps over board and while in the water decides to anchor the boat to the St. John dock, to which he doesn’t quite get to do.  When he is just about to do so, the Ferry runs over him by accident shredding his face.  Accident or sabatoge?

Well thinking it a sad accident, the rest of the rich party goers decide to enjoy themselves with fun, partying, pranks and possibly murder?

Well folks, if your looking for a fun movie with some great ideas for pranks for next April Fools Day… I would recommend this one… It is a fun one, and the ultimate prank in this movie rocks!
