Eddie Izzard is in talks to play, 'Grandpa Munster' a role that had first been owned by Al Lewis,
It looks like it, at least according to tvline. Actor/Comedian Eddie Izzard is nearing a deal with NBC to play the iconic role of, ‘Grandpa Munster’ in the reboot of the classic 60s TV series, The Munsters, that at this point is being called, Mockingbird Lane!
If he does end up owning this role, he will be just the latest in an illustrious succession of actors that started with, Al Lewis (Car 54 Where Are You) in the original 1960s classic, and was continued with Howard Morton (The Mechanic) in, The Munster Today.
Mockingbird Lane is slated to begin production this summer.
