F/X (1986)

by  |  February 7th, 2012  |  Action/Adventure

Bryan Brown plays a special effects wizard, the guy who blows stuff up and makes squibs and blood effects for movies. He’s approached by a government agent who wants him to “rig” the death of a Mafia captain (played by Jerry Orbach, you heard me, Lenny Briscoe plays a mafia guy and he’s good) about to squeal on his pals and who has to “die” for his own safety.

Brown refuses at first, then gives in and does it, despite his reservations.

Then it all goes to hell.

This is a great film with some very surprising twists. It was successful enough that they made a shitty sequel, but watch this one, it’s well crafted, fun and if you’re not careful, you may even learn something before you’re done (hey-hey-hey). Truly, it’s a cool movie and you should rent F/X (1986) today.
