1/War-11.jpg” width=”225″ height=”336″ />World Wars 1… Being fascinated with history, and especially military history, I found the first World War to be a rather fascinating War! Not because of the patriotic fervor of the citizens of countries desires to go to war, in the defense of their country… (Although I do believe in fighting for the defense of your country!)

No in this case I found the first World War to be rather fascinating, because as described in this documentary, I found it to be fascinating because in a lot of respects I think World War 1 was more the beginning of a War between the old imperialistic/pre-industrialized world, with a developing industrialized planet that has no need for any form of class system!

A great example of this, is that in pre-industrialized nations, a lot of times it seems like wars were mostly won on foot, in trenches, or even on horse back! Well as this documentary seems to demonstrate, that with the advent of weapons such as, ‘The Tank’ or, ‘The Airplane’ that the need of a cavalry charge on horseback was not only useless but actually deadly!

With that said, this movie, which was written and directed by Andrew Aiken, and which was narrated by: Patrick Allen, will take you from the beginning with a simmering Europe, and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, as a pre-cursor for what would eventually become known as the first world war, against the Central Powers And The Allies, to the end of the war, and the deconstruction of the Central Powers! There is even a brief look at how the after effects of the war could be said to be at least partly responsible for the second World War!

So if you are like me, (A military history buff), then I would recommend checking this one out, it is a very fascinating documentary!
