Alien Undead (2010)

by  |  January 17th, 2012  |  Exploitation, Horror  |  1 Comment

As a fan of both Science Fiction movies and Horror movies, I am always looking for that perfect melding of the two genre’s…

Now of course we all know about the obvious, such as the Alien movie series, starring Sigourney Weaver (Ghostbusters).  And of course there are those lesser known, yet totally brilliant classics, such as Invasion Of The Bee Girls (1973), or Videodrome (1983) or heck, even Event Horizon (1997).

Either way, rather they are well known or not, I am always in search of a great Sci-Fi/Horror movie to really sink my teeth in to, and Alien Undead, I do believe is one of those!

Written and Directed by: Gregory Connors (Netherworld), Starring: Tonia Renee (Vigilante), Bret Kennedy (Daybreakers), Ozzie Devrish (Blood And Relics), Roslyn van Doorn (I.C.U.), Dirk Foulger (Frame 137) and Anthony Edwards (Bad Moon Rising).

Alien Undead tells the story of how a top secret research station buried deep beneath the Earth plays with more then just the natural order of things,  and ends up paying the price for their own greed and stupidity…

What I mean by this is that the researchers on this far off out post are doing genetic cloning research, using both human DNA, as well as  some non-human DNA that had been found during World War 2!

Now the whole situation seems to start going awry, and the experiment gets out of control and begins to kill the staff and human guinea pigs, and mutate them in to flesh eating zombies… And what is better, is a space craft in orbit that is listening as the situation unfolds, decides to leave these poor people stranded inside of the complex, as they decide to quarantine the entire place by closing off and locking all avenues to get out!

Now after the initial carnage is over with, the list of survivors, which includes two of the human guinea pigs, three scientists, and three soldiers, will have to find each other, so that they can rely on each other as they make their way up thirteen floors that are infested with zombies, so that they can make it to the surface, and escape the hell that they are trapped in below!

Kirkland as he is going over to check who is at the door.

Now what I like about this movie, and what I do think makes this an awesome b movie is a couple of things:

1. Being a huge fan of the Alien franchise, I liked how this movie seemed to pay homage to that series!

2. I also thought that story wise this was a fascinating take on heaven and hell and how it applies to Science Fiction!

3. I also thought that most of the people in this movie did a great job in their acting talent!

If your looking for a fun Ozploitation/Sci-Fi/Horror piece, then I recommend this one, it is a fun one!
