height=”400″ />When I was a kid one of my favorite actors was Fred Savage (The Wonder Years) his time on The Wonder Years was both entertaining and enriching! With that in mind I have followed Mr. Savage’s career as an actor periodically for years! From the guest spot he did on Seinfeld, to such movies as The Princess Bride (1987), Little Monsters (1989), just to name a few…

Written by: David Chisholm (Over My Dead Body), and Directed by: Todd Holland (Twin Peaks). Starring: Luke Edwards (Molloy), Fred Savage, Jenny Lewis (Fox Fire), Will Seltzer (Twin Peaks), Christian Slater (Murder In The First) and Beau Bridges (Stargate SG1).

Now this movie tells the story of what happens to the Woods family after tragedy befalls them, and the reconciliation that comes years later…

Now what I mean by this is that half the Woods family seems to have split from the other half, with Corey (Savage) Nick (Slater), and Sam (Bridges) staying together as a slightly disfunctional family unit, while Nick and Corey’s Step mother Christine (Played by: Wendy Phillips), and their younger (traumatized) step brother Jimmy move away and Christine gets married to some one else (played by: Sam McMurray).

Now the reason why all of this has befallen the Woods family is the fact that due to an accident one year, the Woods’ daughter and Jimmy’s twin sister ended up dying!

So now years later, Jimmy is constantly on the move, he seems to always be splitting from his mother and step father… This occurs until one day when both Christine and her husband decide that they have had enough and decide to (put him some where…)

Now after the rest of the Woods men here about this, Sam is visibly concerned, and Nick seems pretty nonchalant about the whole thing, but Corey is really quite upset at the idea that his little brother could end up in the mental hospital…

Nick and Corey as they are getting the news about their little brother Jimmy.

So one day Corey runs away from home and over to where his brother has been imprisoned… Once Corey busts Jimmy out of the place they end up taking off for parts unknown…

Now during their travels they meet a girl by the name of Haley (Lewis), who is traveling home to prepare it for when her long-haul trucker father comes home…

Now at this point when the three of them have met, Jimmy has already begun to show his proficiency as a video game player… So since both he and Corey are out of money to get anywhere, Corey cons Haley in to a bet for who can beat the other point wise on the video game, ‘Double Dragon’ (Jimmy vs. Haley that is)…

Seeing the angle, Haley talks Jimmy and Corey in to conning people out of money by playing arcade games, as they make their way west to Los Angeles and to a Video Game championship for a $50 thousand dollar grand prize!

Some unhappy customers!

Now what I like about this movie and what I do think makes this an awesome B movie is a couple of things:

1. I like the story line, of the closeness of familial ties, and the bonds that can be forged among friends!

2. I also thought that the acting that was done in this movie, from Christian Slater to Luke Edwards, each and everyone of them did a great job!

3. I also thought that it was a fond walk down memory lane to watch as the people in this movie play some truly classic video games!

4. I also thought that you guys might find this interesting, but it turns out that the sound that is made when Lucas (played by: Jackey Vinson), as he puts on the power glove is the same five toned sound that came from Close Encounters Of The Third Kind (1977)!

5. Also don’t forget to check out this un-credited cameo for a young Tobey Maguire (Spider Man)

If your looking for a fond walk down memory lane, then this one is definitely a true classic that you might enjoy!
